The standard for energy management systems. It systematically reduces energy consumption, cuts costs and supports your climate targets.
Overview
What is ISO 50001?
ISO 50001 is the international standard for energy management systems (EnMS). It helps organizations improve their energy performance continuously and on a data-driven basis.

Core requirements of the standard

- Energy objectives, action plans and measure tracking
- Energy-efficient procurement and design
- Measurement, monitoring and continuous improvement

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about ISO 50001
Can ISO 50001 deliver tax advantages?
In many cases yes. A certified EnMS is often a prerequisite for relief such as the peak-balancing scheme or certain funding programs. The applicable law at the time is decisive.
How does ISO 50001 differ from an energy audit?
An energy audit (e.g. to EN 16247) is a one-off analysis; ISO 50001 establishes a lasting improvement process.
