Personnel certification

Personnel certification in Transport and Traffic

Independent proof of competence for specialists in aviation, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and drone technology (UAS).

Overview

What is it about?

Personnel certification in transport and traffic determines whether a specialist competently meets the requirements of their role in aviation, intelligent transportation systems or drone technology. The programmes range from internal audits in aviation and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) to the development, safety, operation, quality and cybersecurity of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

It addresses roles such as Internal Auditor Aviation, ITS Specialist, UAS Systems Engineer, UAS Safety Engineer, UAS Operations Manager, UAS Quality Auditor and UAS Cybersecurity Engineer. Their competence and qualifications are assessed and confirmed by an independent body.

Purpose & benefit

You make the qualifications of your specialists in aviation, intelligent transportation systems and drone technology robustly and comparably verifiable for customers, clients and auditors.

What's included

  • Fundamentals of aviation quality management and internal audits in aviation
  • Intelligent transportation systems: sensors, communication, traffic management, security and data protection
  • Integration of ITS into smart cities and project management for ITS implementations
  • Requirements, architecture and system integration of unmanned aircraft systems
  • Functional safety, safety analysis and safe system development of UAS
  • Planning, organising and monitoring drone operations
  • Quality management, process and supplier audits based on EN 9100 and cybersecurity of drone systems

For whom

Is this right for you?

For quality management officers and auditors in aviation, experienced ITS professionals and systems, safety, operations, quality and cybersecurity specialists working with UAS.

Your benefits

What it does for you

  • Independent proof of your own competence in aviation, intelligent transportation systems or drone technology
  • Clearly defined role profiles with admission requirement and certification condition
  • For employers: proven qualification of auditors, ITS and UAS specialists towards customers and clients
  • Recognition of equivalent knowledge acquired elsewhere instead of a fixed educational path

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does personnel certification differ from a training certificate?

A training certificate confirms attendance at a course. Personnel certification, by contrast, assesses in an independent examination procedure whether the person actually masters the required competences.

Does the certification replace an official authorisation?

No. Personnel certification confirms competence for the respective role. The UAS Operations Manager programme expressly includes no practical remote pilot training and no examination for an official authorisation; the UAS Quality Auditor course does not confer IAQG auditor recognition.

Do the preparatory courses have to be taken at intellcert?

No. Courses from other providers whose content we can recognise, or equivalent knowledge acquired elsewhere, are also accepted and must be evidenced. In addition, the examination must be passed and the professional experience stated in the profile must be demonstrated.
