Frequently Asked Questions about ISO 14001 Certification
ISO 14001 defines the requirements for an effective environmental management system. Below you will find answers to the most important questions about accredited certification.
What does ISO 14001 certify?
ISO 14001 certifies your environmental management system. That is, the systematic control of your environmental impacts, compliance with binding obligations and the continual improvement of your environmental performance.
How does the initial certification work?
Our activities are strictly limited to certification services: planning and conducting certification audits to assess conformity of the environmental management system with the requirements of ISO 14001, certification decision based on the audit results, issuance and maintenance of ISO 14001 certificates, and conducting surveillance and recertification audits in accordance with applicable rules and defined time intervals.
Must we already comply with all environmental laws?
The standard requires you to know and evaluate your binding obligations and to have established a process for meeting them. We assess the effectiveness of this process. Legal compliance itself remains your responsibility.
What determines the effort?
For the preparation of a binding quotation we provide a Service Request Form. Upon receipt of the completed documentation, an individual quotation will be prepared based on the information provided.
